Dear Discovery Cluster Users:
After the ITS-RC seminar "Using the XEON PHI Co-Processor – demonstration on an in-house server" to be held on Thursday, February 25th from 10.30am - 12.30pm we will have an open house from 1.00pm to 5.30pm.
Please stop by 2 Ell Hall (behind NEU bookstore) to meet with Intel Engineers and check out the Intel Grizzly Pass server with a Xeon Phi coprocessor used in the seminar that was kindly loaned to us by Intel.
The following Intel people will be available at the open house as will all research computing personnel:
Tuong Nguyen - who has been working in the HPC space for 15+ years. Currently is an HPC Solutions Architect at Intel, covering Intel HPC solutions including Xeon Processor, Xeon Phi Processor, Omni-Path Fabric, Next generation 3D XPoint Non-Volatile-Memory, Software Tools, Lustre Parallel File System, Big Data, Machine Learning/Deep Learning.
Michael Moretti - who is the HPC Business Development Manager for Intel Americas - Northeast. He has worked in the technology industry for 25+ years and the last 5 in HPC. Prior to Intel he was the SGI Executive Director for HPC commercial sales.
Stewart Gretchen - who is the state, local and education business (SLED) development manager for all six New England states. She joined Intel 6 months ago, has over 25 years' experience in technology and last worked on HPC projects with Air Force Research Labs and US Air Force.
I hope you will take this opportunity to meet with Intel people, check out the Xeon Phi coprocessor and meet with the research computing team.
