Dear Discovery Cluster Users:

MGHPCC will be having their yearly power outage for maintenance starting at 00:01 hours May 18th (Monday), 2015. Power is expected to resume at full capacity by 18:00 hours May 18th (Monday - 6PM), 2015. Please note that this was originally scheduled for December last year but was postponed due to non-availability of parts.

In preparation for powering down Discovery Cluster all queues will be closed at 17:00 hours May 16th (Saturday - 5PM), 2015.

The Discovery Cluster will be powered down at 17:00 hours May 17th (Sunday - 5PM), 2015. 

This will be done 7 hours earlier as the EMC Isilon that provides the NFS mounted /home, /scratch and /shared directories can also have the OneFS OS on it updated before it too needs to be powered down. It cannot be updated when the NFS directories are mounted on the cluster.

As soon as the cluster is restarted, tested and stable, and login to the cluster and using of queues enabled - all users will be informed.

NOTE: If you start any data transfers make sure they finish well in advance of the shutdown time. Please remember to save all your work and exit all sessions cleanly before the shutdown time otherwise you may lose data.
