*NULab for Texts, Maps, and Networks*
*Annual Conference:*
*"What Now?"*
*April 1, 10:45am–4:30pm (Eastern)*

Dear all,

Please join us on April 1st for the NULab's fifth annual spring conference,
showcasing the work of our faculty, graduate students, and research
collaborators. This year, the conference will have the theme “What now?”
and will share research on taking stock of current events, envisioning
possible futures, and living with the unexpected.

The conference will feature a set of lightning talks and a keynote by Gabriela
Baeza Ventura <https://www.uh.edu/class/spanish/faculty/baeza-ventura_g/>,
associate professor of Hispanic literature, and Carolina Villarroel
<https://artepublicopress.com/carolina-villarroel/>, Brown Foundation
director of research for Arte Público Press, both at the University of
Houston. The keynote will share insights from the development of the
University of Houston's new U.S. Latino Digital Humanities Center
<https://artepublicopress.com/digital-humanities/>. The center "serves as a
venue for scholarship focused on the US Latino written legacy that has been
lost, absent, repressed or underrepresented. "

The conference will be virtual, but we will have an in-person lunch and
social gathering, in the "Central West" tent at Northeastern
University, from 10:30am–4:30pm. All are welcome to join! Bring your laptop
and listen to the conference, catch up with fellow attendees, and enjoy
lunch, breakfast, or a snack.

*This event is free and open to the public, but registration is
required. RSVP here
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe8Hs9aRciRLGbqNd97fBFHf20ObQMLwiPBk6LipyjtBV2OSw/viewform>.

but if you will be joining us in person for food, please RSVP by March 28*.
