Hello
Discovery Users,
The Discovery cluster will be undergoing regularly scheduled monthly maintenance on Wednesday, June 2nd from 5a.m. to 5p.m. The cluster will be unavailable for jobs during this time. This includes all PI-owned hardware and the Open onDemand portal.
A
major task during maintenance will be upgrading Slurm to version 20.11.
This is in response to the security issue detailed in our previous communication. We are still in the testing phase
with this upgrade and will provide further details on this
release when we are closer to the maintenance window.
New High-Memory Nodes
The RC team purchased and installed two, new high-memory nodes. The nodes are d0129 and d0130 and have 3TB of RAM each. If your computational work typically requires large amounts of memory, we encourage you to test these nodes out with your scripts. You can add the --nodelist option to your srun command to specifically request one of the nodes (for example, --nodelist=d0129)or add a line to your sbatch script with --nodelist, (specify the name of the node you want to use with your job):
#SBATCH --nodelist=d0129
