You are cordially invited to attend, Northeastern University GIS Day 2021 Visualizing Disparities, Advancing Social Justice virtual event on Wednesday,  November 17, 10am to 3:30 pm ET.

 

Northeastern University Library, and the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs are celebrating GIS Day 2021. A day of interactive keynote and poster competition and crowdsourcing data collection and mapathon to address issues of equity and social justice. This event will be sponsored by NULab for Texts, Maps and Networks and Spatial-Relationships LLC, and will be conducted in hybrid mode.

The online event will be open to the public and the in-person portion will be available to NU’s community (to-go light refreshments will be provided).

 

Dan Cohen, Dean of Libraries; Vice Provost for Information Collaboration; Professor of History will start the day, introducing the keynote speaker. The keynote speaker is Susan H. Kamei, and she will speak about The Japanese American incarceration during World War II.
