Northeastern University GIS Day 2021 Poster Competition

Visualizing Disparities and Social Equity in Boston

The NU Library and SPPUA are pleased to announce a call for posters for GIS Day 2021 @ NU, November 17th, 2021. The poster session is an integral part of the GIS Day. We welcome posters about studying disparities and social equity in Boston with the applications of spatial analysis and visualization across all disciplines. The call for posters is open to all professionals and academics (students, faculty, and researchers) from NU and other institutions who use and develop these techniques. The posters can be created in the form of ArcGIS StoryMaps, or alternatively use our poster template which will be provided. This event will be sponsored by NULab for Texts, Maps and Networks and Spatial-Relationships LLC. The judges will be announced at a later date. Deadline for abstract submission

Deadline to submit abstracts for this call is October 31, 2021. To propose a poster, please send an abstract of 100–150 words to  [log in to unmask].

Deadline to submit posters/ StoryMaps is November 14^th, 2021. 

A poster clinic by RDS will be held on the first week of November to support poster preparation and address any questions. The date and time will be announced later. 

 

Setup and session information

The Poster Session is scheduled for Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from 11:30pm to 12:30pm. Presenters must be ready to explain their work virtually via Zoom during the session.

 

Content

All posters must be original work, and include the following:

- Author(s) and affiliation(s)

- Descriptive and concise title

- Clear problem formulation and objectives of the work

- Methodology that addresses the objectives

- Results including figures and/or tables

- Conclusions that summarize the implications of the work

 

Format

You will be directed to a template to format your poster or ArcGIS StoryMaps.

 

Prize 

The winners will be awarded Amazon gift cards.
