Hello Discovery Users,
In order to ensure the stability and integrity of the scratch storage system, the Research Computing team has developed a scratch space policy. This policy was reviewed and approved by the Research Computing Advisory Committee and has been posted to our website on the Policies page. In accordance with this policy, we will begin administering regular file space cleanup of the scratch shared storage space. This is needed to maintain a healthy, productive, shared storage environment.
We want to make sure that we are working with you to avoid any interruption of mission-critical research workflows. If you are part of a research group that has data on scratch that would require an extension to the 28 day deadline, you need to submit a ServiceNow ticket https://bit.ly/NURC-Assistance and detail the need for an extension.
If you need additional persistent storage for your data, please reach out to us by submitting a storage space request through ServiceNow: https://bit.ly/NURC-StorageExtension Over the past several months, we have added new storage systems to help better serve the Northeastern research community. With this storage expansion, we would be happy to work with you to provision an appropriate data storage solution to meet your specific research needs.
Please review your scratch usage as soon as possible, and reach out to us to avoid any interruption to your work and research. We thank you for your cooperation and attentiveness to this matter.
Thanks,
The Research Computing Team
