Dear all,

I hope you and your families are doing as well as possible under the circumstances, which for some of you now includes an overwhelming amount of childcare and online education wrangling on top of work responsibilities.

At least myself, being home with 3 kids 6-and-under has meant having to put most of the group organization work I’m doing on hold, at least until daycare reopens. I’m not sure what the cancellation of DH 2020 in person is going to mean for the ADHO meetings that would decide on us becoming a special interest group, but I’ll be trying to find out.

In the meantime, I’m excited abut the opportunity presented by centerNet’s “Day of DH” event next Wednesday: https://dhcenternet.org/initiatives/day-of-dh/2020. In past years it’s involved posting to a shared blog, but this year they’re keeping it more lightweight, with tweeting using the hashtag #DayofDH2020. I’ll be keeping an eye on the hashtag (as best I can) and I’m very happy to retweet from the DH-WoGeM account — including things about doing care work and domestic work instead of DH right now. If you have the energy and inclination on Wednesday, please post something.

I’m also going to see if I can figure out the time and energy to run some kind of coloring / art contest for Day of DH (with kid submissions welcome) if that might amuse anyone in your household.

Take care,
Quinn
