Giorgia Lupi
Partner, Pentagram
Keynote Speaker

Giorgia Lupi is an information designer whose work takes a humanistic approach to data. In her practice, she challenges the impersonality of data, designing engaging visual narratives that reconnect numbers to what they stand for: stories, people, ideas. She has been honored with numerous awards, including multiple gold medals at the Kantar Information Is Beautiful Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Ari Adler
Managing Director, IDEO

Ari Adler is a Managing Director of IDEO’s Cambridge Studio where he leads client relationships, shapes work, guides teams and individuals, and regularly plays Tetris in order to keep the studio running smoothly. He is particularly interested in how emerging technologies are enabling new human experiences and fundamentally changing the way we relate to the physical and digital worlds around us.

Gigi Gormley Kalaher
Head of Design Strategy, Fidelity Labs

Gigi Gormley’s expertise in innovation and design thinking comes from her training at IDEO, work at gravitytank and frog design, plus starting innovation groups for firms seeking a competitive advantage, such as T-Mobile and Bank of America. Now as the director of design research at Fidelity Labs, she makes sure that unmet consumer needs are uncovered to inspire product development.

Jeffrey Schnapp

Panelist

Founder/faculty director of metaLAB (at) Harvard and faculty co-director of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University. He holds the Carl A. Pescosolido Chair in Romance Languages and Literatures & Comparative Literature in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and is on the teaching faculty in the Department of Architecture at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.

Paolo Ciuccarelli
CfD Director and Professor, Northeastern University

Architect and Communication Designer, Paolo Ciuccarelli is a Professor of Design at Northeastern after twenty years at Politecnico di Milano in Italy. At Politecnico he coordinated the Communication Design program (BSc and MSc), has been a member of the board at the PhD in Design and he founded the DensityDesign Research Lab, an award-winning laboratory for data visualization and information design.
