Hi all,

(With apologies for cross-posting.) I am excited to announce the first fall
event for *DH Hub*, a collaborative community of graduate students and
young professionals doing DH work in Greater Boston. DH Hub is supported by
the Digital Scholarship Group <https://dsg.neu.edu/> and NULab for Texts,
Maps, and Networks <https://web.northeastern.edu/nulab/> at Northeastern
University. This year the DH Hub is run by Laura Johnson, an English Ph.D.
Student and Coordinator of the NULab at Northeastern, and Mahala Nyberg, a
Public History MA Student and Coordinator of the Digital Scholarship Group
at Northeastern. Continuing our student-led events and gatherings from this
past Spring (like the Research Potluck in the DH Graduate Student Research
Series), our goal is to further connect and collaborate this fall.

*Join us on Thursday, September 26th at 1 PM at Woody’s Grill & Tap (58
Hemenway St, Boston, MA 02115) for our Fall Welcome Lunch! *We will be
using an unconference model this fall for planning events, so bring your
ideas and we will provide lunch! Attendees will have a chance to meet other
students and young professionals studying DH in Boston and propose event
ideas. In order to make a reservation for this event, please *RSVP *to
Laura Johnson at [log in to unmask] by *Monday, September 23rd.*

After much discussion and feedback this past Spring about a way to
communicate with other students across Boston, we are excited to also share
new DH HUb Sack Channel. The DH Hub Slack is an informal space for members
to network across institutional and disciplinary boundaries. Members will
join a community dedicated to sharing research and methods, working
together to build digital skill sets, explore professional development
opportunities, and discuss methods of digital pedagogy and career
aspirations in an informal way. If you are interested in joining, please
fill out this form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdDsVvji9w6w6Upcgb_D3bS4dVrnSd62HIqHt7es-WSsYoeyQ/viewform?usp=sf_link.
We will be responding to requests as soon as we can, but please allow up to
a week to receive an invitation.

If you know any students and young professionals who might be interested,
please circulate this message. If you have any questions, you can contact
us at the new DH Hub email at [log in to unmask]

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Laura Johnson
Mahala Nyberg
