Dear Mahala-
I would like to attend, to present the "Digitizing Incarcerations: a Database of Unfreedoms" project that I am co-directing with Amber Stubbs, my colleague in Computer Science here at Simmons. Amber is teaching during the unconference, but may I bring our undergraduate student fellow if she's available? She has only recently started with the project, and has been working with us on research and data annotation.

Best wishes,
Jess Parr

Hello all,

(With apologies for cross-posting.)

The DH Hub invites you to join us for pizza and a research workshop Wednesday, December 4th from 12-1:00pm in the Digital Scholarship Commons Media Lounge (Room 211, Snell Library) at Northeastern University (360 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115). For our final event of the semester, we are hosting an “Un-Conference” in collaboration with the Digital Scholarship Group at Northeastern as part of the DH Open Office Hour series hosted by the DSG. This is an opportunity to informally present your research or projects and get feedback from others practicing or interested in the Digital Humanities.  Feel free to share works in progress, ask for feedback on long term projects or get some final advice on a class project before finals! Sharing your research is not a requirement to attend, we welcome participants who come to support their fellow researchers and are willing to offer feedback.

Pizza will be provided. The Digital Scholarship Commons Media Lounge is located on the second floor of Snell Library (take a right out of the stairwell, head through the glass double doors, and take an immediate left toward the orange couches).

If you would like to attend, please RSVP with any dietary restrictions to Laura Johnson and Mahala Nyberg at our DH Hub email: [log in to unmask]. If you are not part of the Northeastern community, please let us know so we can add your name as a visitor for access into Snell Library.

DH Hub is a collaborative community of graduate students, recent graduates and early career researchers doing DH work in Greater Boston, supported by the Digital Scholarship Group and NULab for Texts, Maps, and Networks at Northeastern University. If you are interested in getting in contact with other students and researchers working in DH, you can join our Slack Channel: https://forms.gle/zR61QoA4zSxU4fWh9.

Lastly, if there is anyone who you think might be interested, please circulate this message. Let us know if you have any questions.

We hope to see you there!

Best,

Laura Johnson
