I'm thrilled to announce that the Boston College Libraries are hiring a data services librarian. This position will be housed in our digital scholarship department and will get to help shape data services at BC. If you love building things and working collaboratively, we're looking for you! Boston College Libraries is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and knowledgeable individual with experience working with research data analysis, curation, and management to support the data-intensive needs of faculty, staff, and students at Boston College. The Data Services Librarian will collaborate closely with a team of library staff to expand the data support services that the Boston College Libraries offer.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide advice and support for projects related to data collection, cleaning, analysis, curation, documentation, and management and will be asked to establish working relationships with stakeholders across the university research enterprise. S/he will be responsible for providing training sessions on these topics and presenting to groups across campus about the Libraries’ data services. The successful candidate will also be up-to-date on trends, sources, and issues in open and public scholarship, including open access, data, education, and open source tools, and will have hands-on experience with the key tools and techniques in the field.
