Bernstein '65 P '02 Assistant Professor of American Studies at Brown University. Dr. Martinez is the primary investigator for Mapping Violence<https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fmappingviolence.com%2F&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cae06da36c78a4de761bd08d6135142f7%7Ca8eec281aaa34daeac9b9a398b9215e7%7C0%7C0%7C636717637056821662&sdata=jVWKFfAHxDWkQ5L7rwbrDIhfwNTcx4%2F%2BWRx%2B%2FkONXaw%3D&reserved=0>, a digital project that documents histories of racial violence in Texas. The keynote will be followed by lighting talks presenting research from the Northeastern community doing digital projects in English, History, Computer Science, Network Science, Journalism, and more.

Attendees will learn about projects and methods in digital scholarship such as text analysis, GIS and mapping, encoding, data visualization and more. Attendees will meet others interested in or practicing digital scholarship from the Northeastern and Boston DH community.
