Bowdoin College’s Program of Digital and Computational Studies (DCS) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level, beginning July 1, 2025. The position subfield is open, with a preference for candidates whose scholarship or artistic practice involves the critique or creation of digital or computational technologies from an interdisciplinary perspective that embraces the bidirectionality of DCS (see the program website for details: https://www.bowdoin.edu/digital-and-computational-studies/). The teaching load is two courses per semester. Topics for these courses include, but are not limited to, introductory computational methods, statistical methods, text analysis, network analysis, spatial analysis, societal impact of AI, digital media, art and technology, social media, and an advanced course in the candidate’s area of specialization.
